Columbine FSC sent a grant proposal to US Figure Skating in September of 2017.  On January 6, 2018, US Figure Skating announced that we won the "Building Bridges" grant award from The Prudential in the amount of $15K.  These funds will go towards a proposed program to introduce figure skating to the deaf and hearing impaired community.  This 7-8 week specialized learn-to-skate program will cater to the needs of skaters from this community and will culminate by incorporating their newly acquired skills into the Spring Ice Show.  Columbine will be working with the Rocky Mountain Deaf School and EarCommunity.org, as well as other local non-profit organizations, and the Apex Team.  We will tap into our club resources, like our Junior Board and interested volunteers as well.  We are very proud and excited to be on this journey.
